When I wrote to this one nasty comment when she Trivialized the harms done to THOUSANDS OF WOMEN NO MILLIONS BECAUSE THIS HAS BEEN CENTURIES LONG, HER REPLY AFTER I POSTED A VERY POLITE SINCERE POST ABOUT WHY THESE REFERENCES TAKEN LITERALLY IN BIBLE ARE HARMFUL--THIS IS WHAT SHE HAD TO SAY
I didn't save all the scriptural Platitudes she threw at me in a really nasty way to Demonize every thing I said about the struggle or cognitive dissonance that the language of Gender does in church-Bible, etc. but I did save the last two things she said...in her attempt to demonize my Sincere attempts of showing other scriptures that do NOT exclude women and Questions I had that many women ask...you see when one is Honest, it's Amazing how they immediately jump to demonize your doubts/questions/or critical thinking and they use scriptures to SHUT YOU UP...SO THAT OTHER'S WON'T THINK...THE CULT IS JUST AS STRONG IN THE EGALS AS IT IS THE COMPS...

MY REPLY TO HER: all prior to that, may I say, platitudes, platitudes, platitudes, Good for you if that works for you,
but what being in Christ is for you, may NOT be what being in Christ is to someone else and WHO are we to Define for All what being In Christ is OR what or how to define what Their life is Hid in Christ?
A good example of HOW we, assert OUR boxes using Doctrine onto EVERYONE ELSE,

so, yea, I do think, using doctrine platitudes like a baseball bat Can and often Does yes, obscure a believer’s ability to IDENTIFY WITH THE GOSPEL, WITH JESUS CHRIST, Paul’s being IN CHRIST was a whole different walk/EXPERIENCE than was Thomas or John or James…EACH one, had a different Death, John was exiled, EACH one had a different mission, and while they may yes, have had similar experiences, via doctrine and Faith, they did NOT ALL apply the Same identical way or the same kind of relationship…
in fact, another place, I recall Paul saying to the brethren, did they not Too have a right to carry with them a Sister [wife], etc.? Paul himself spoke against putting people into doctrinal boxes, Numerous times.
WE are different, through out the entire world, Christianity is NOT HOMOGENEOUS, though through Cultural and Blatant flat out Genocide, many zealots and DOGMATIST’S have done all in their Power to FORCE that homogeneity, leaving disastrous Results, even Hostility and backlash AGAINST THE GOSPEL, PROFANING GOD’S NAME IN THE PROCESS, we see the dire results of this in numerous parts of Africa, South America, and Women, sad to say, pay the Highest price, e.g. case examples, Rwanda and Congo.
Like, let’s talk class difference, what the Hell does obfuscate mean Anyway? What kind of people Use that language, other than college ed? IF I were to use that language with the working class and homeless that I know, they wouldn’t WANT anything to do with the Gospel, no matter HOW much I said,

Jesus related to the woman at the well differently to the woman who said Blessed is the mother who gave you suck or who nursed you…
Jesus related to the demon possessed man at the tombs who today we would classify as paranoid schizophrenic and have locked up Totally different from the Pharisees,
does that Mean then, that because Jesus related to Each person on THE LEVEL, THE GENDER, THE AGE, THE NATIONALITY, THE SOCIAL STANDING, differently and PERSONALLY, with each and every one, that THAT obfuscated or made God’s love Confusing? Does that mean, Jesus wasn’t IN Jesus or IN the FATHER?
Do we Have to Deny personhood, fit all into a box, so to give an Appearance that all is IN Christ,
if that be the case, IS THAT TRUTH?

but you know, Jesus left Heaven, became Homeless, Became Poor, Became the underclass, Became one who would DARE talk to the woman, sinner, drunk, publican, whore,
and HE not once, Denied their Existence or differences or Individualism, Yes HE said, to ALL, REPENT OR YOU WILL ALL LIKEWISE PERISH,
HIS commandments were the same, yes, but HE also, related to EACH and every one, WITHOUT IGNORING THE DIFFERENCES OR TELLING THEM, OK NOW YOU’RE ALL THE SAME NOW, LET’S JUST DENY YOUR OWN LENS, EXPERIENCE, DIFFERENCES AND WOW, ALL IS FINE AND HONKY DORY NOW,
nope, Jesus didn’t do that….in fact, HE gave Different instructions to all of them, one He said Go your own way, be whole, another HE said, go back home and let them see, another HE said, rise and give her something to eat,

The REASON, we have many falling away to day and away from the churches IS because of those kind of platitudes right there, the Oh but, hey Mary or John we are all the same, Praise God, yep, and then Mary goes home and with three kids and not making it has to take on that second job at the bar where she has to dress scantily to PAY THE BILLS but NO one in CHURCH will know because HEY
we’re all in Christ now and our lives our hid in Him, gee HOW convenient…and John, well John is struggling with suicidal thoughts because he is going to be laid off and he is too old to start another career and his wife is ill and well, on and on…
but Hey, we’re All one in Christ, Yippee,
and Susy well Susy got raped and well, hey, it’s all sad and well you know Susy, we’re all ONE in Christ and well you know we understand…
like hell you do.
Yea, those platitudes do real nice–a real good job putting up some Utopia box that well, hey IF you struggle with Identity because HEY, Virginia, guess what, people in This day and age are KILLED over IDENTITY, GO TO THE INNER CITY AND GET A CLUE, SERIOUSLY,
but we’re all ONE in Christ so it’s all fine now isn’t it?
You know, THAT isn’t what ONE in Christ is supposed to be NOR is our lives being hid in Christ supposed to be about denial of real pain, real people, real differences, with yes, Different Identities…

Let me begin, by taking us back to the original topic, on gender constructs…as we know, this blog among many others, with I will not hesitate to say, has authors/posters who are a Majority, of a certain race, class, who Yes, ______do Identify with these issues of Gender and the Abuses of one gender in particular, both within the church [notoriously] and in the world and therefore Yes, what may seem normalized to many here, are downright excruciatingly painful for Thousands of women and men, in our church today. I speak for THEM, it may not be Popular, it may not be P.C., but I speak and advocate for THEM, and if that is not well taken, frankly too bad, because for the FEW ELITE and DARE I SAY, PRIVILEGE voices out there, there are MANY MORE, WHO DO NOT HAVE A VOICE, OR IF THEY DO VOICE,
IMMEDIATELY YES, THEY ARE SILENCED, WITH THE PLATITUDES OF DOCTRINE. ESPECIALLY, WOMEN.
You see _______ for many who Discourse over these debates over LAW, or DOCTRINE, as if it’s a mere yet Another PHILOSOPHY AT MARS HILL [Acts] over a cup of tea and scones, those same who can relatively and safely DISTANCE themselves from the Yes, PAIN OF IDENTITY AND PARTICULARLY GENDER BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT BEEN AT THE RECEIVING END, ONGOING THAT IS, OF THE ABUSES CAUSED BY SUCH DOCTRINES…and so NOT to be accusatory here, because My intent ________ is not to be offensive though I know, I am stirring up the nest here therefore yes, when that happens we can tend to get Defensive, but just to give you a Secular example here,
let’s take the case of Photographers who work taking photos of gross human right violations, such as those who worked in Bosnia during the war and in Afghanistan. In Bosnia/Croatia, the photographers took photos of the rape and death camps, knowing full well they couldn’t Do anything to help but IF they had not taken the photos the world would not have known, and the issue of ETHICS was one that was not one of those black and white areas. These photographers had to distance themselves, though horrified they were, because while they couldn’t rescue the men in the camps who were yes, being forced to rape one another, being castrated, etc., they also know, IF they did NOT take photos, reports, as human right photographers and journalists–these Crimes against Humanity would be and remain Invisible, would grow worse and there would not by Any justice nor help for future generations of the Bosnian people.
In Afghanistan, there were photographers who photographed two women who were murdered in cold blood for prostitution, a trade that MOST of the war widows are forced into to feed their five kids…even if they are NOT prostitutes, all it takes is being raped, a Common occurrence, to be accused and shot. The question again came up, among feminists and humanitarians, were these photographers Ethical by photographing this execution. Well, they couldn’t Stop it, nor could they prevent it…however, by taking the photos they Show the world the brutality that is Still going on in Afghanistan, contrary to the lies of developers, war mongers and oil whores. And like the photographers in Bosnia, Sudan, they had to distance themselves…
This is sadly, the Realism, of contending and reporting of EVIL, however, in both cases they reported through film the horrors not to just Philosophize [though tragically some Do and some even make Profit off of selling the best photos and stories therefore raping/re-victimizing victims again] and yet on the other hand, it’s Because of those who also dare to expose evil who also Give a voice to those who cannot speak.
Now, if one photographer lets say, turns and Invalidates the Pain and Horror and Soul Damage of the victims by lumping the evil to just a Necessity for Population Control…for some goal of intended well being for All, then, we have the situation [and this sadly Does occur] of Invalidation of the Identity and Reality of Suffering for those victims who are in the thousands, millions around the world….
It is not to Deny that yes, we have a global population problem or that policies that have good intent should be discarded or denied, However, there is a Line, between the platitudes of Necessity OR ideology, and that of the real breathing human lives who Yes, are effected by the systems and stratification’s…whose pain and identity are not relieved, the suffering, simply because, several [usually those who Can safely distance themselves because they are NOT on the RECEIVING END from the evil] can philosophize about the balance of necessity or the goodness of a social engineered Ideal, using yes, Platitudes of genius and knowledge of tried and true…
Using that secular example,
when I wrote about the gender, and the term of Sons of God, I wrote on behalf of not just my own struggle with this but on behalf of THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of women who Yes, Identity Does matter….Regardless of the doctrines, that Yes are used a lot like Platitudes to Trivialize or Silence or Rationalize evil, and ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THEY ARE OFTEN USED TO EVADE OR AVOID the HUMAN ELEMENT OF THE ISSUE, particularly if that HUMAN ELEMENT IS ‘FEMALE’. You see __________, for many such as myself, while Yes we Know what it means to Be in Christ, our identity in Him, salvation, redemption…knowing that in No way,
reduces or erases the REALITY OF OUR LIFE AND LENS, OUR IDENTITY AS A CLASS, GENDER, AND RACE…
to just knock it off as ‘getting attention’ is well, Shaking my head here,
I’m not so sure how to reply to that one, not that I haven’t seen that kind of response before but I guess you could say, I more and more can relate to how the African American must have felt when the ‘brethren’ would philosophize about how we are All in Christ yet they were still living under JIM CROW LAWS AND FLEEING GETTING LYNCHED ON TREES. CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE AND BOY, WHEN THEY SAW BROTHER JIM HANGING ON A TREE…I WONDER HOW IN THE HELL, THEY RECONCILED THE PHILOSOPHY AND PLATITUDES WITH THE REALITY, OF YES, THEY WERE OF AN IDENTITY THAT WHILE IN CHRIST, IN WORD, IN LIFE, IN REALITY…
WAS NOT MANIFESTED IN THE SAME WAY….
and I could only imagine, one daring to come forward and say, you know I struggle with this with God and so I question, this, this, this…
and another, come up, and say,

While yes, the Word says, we are all One in Christ and that is our identity, we should be Careful in not using that to Trivialize or Avoid the real identity and how it Does yes, effect people, in this real World…and then to tell them or relay to them that Their struggle or their difficulty in Believing, truly believing that they are not less worthy in God’s eyes is just some fleeting or IMAGINED INJUSTICE and while, Hey, don’t you know you’re one in Christ,
yes,
is using Religion and religious platitudes as an Opiate, to dull the minds, evade the issue, or to downright, MAINTAIN PRIVILEGE AND STATUS QUO. Those safely distance can Afford that luxury,
there are many, those I do advocate for, Yes the Underclass, Non-Whites, and Gender including the single mother, the whore [such as myself Yes I was a whore...homeless, abused in RA as a child, dirty filthy whore...for years, who has seen the gangs and heroin and meth and still lives among that world and IN that world], the gang member, the disabled from years of meth use, the Mexican illegal trying to feed his kids, the African American woman on welfare, the Christian Muslim woman living in fear because for her being raped and beaten is a DAILY REALITY so she hides her faith…the middle class rural woman whose husband tortures her but she loves God and can’t leave with her seven kids and so Yes Identity
MATTERS TO THEM….
and when Those women hear Sons of God, do you think they do not Struggle?
If that is just a mere means of getting attention to you,
or anyone else, too damn bad….
DEAL WITH IT,

and so Yes, when I then hear, scripture used as Platitudes,
I’m going to say something…
for those, who often, ARE NOT ALLOWED TO.
